Bertha

This is the best photo I could get of Bertha. Bertha is a massive drill built in Japan and shipped to seattle aboard that vessel you see in the photo. Bertha is going to bore a tunnel in seattle which will replace the viaduct. Apparently according to one of my co workers I'm suppose to be excited about this so that's why I'm blogging about it!

Wouldn't you know?

Wouldn't you know my darned knee is a lot better today. I'm happy about that, but now I have a doctors appt. where I have to describe a pain that is no longer there. Well it's there a little. Hopefully I'll be off to work tomorrow. I have no time on the books and I'd like to get back to work.

Yesterday my friend Kathy blogged about how she used to decorate with patterns, especially roses and that got me thinking about my favorite comforter that I used to own which was called Nantucket Rose. I bought it at Macy's. Anyway I don't know what made me think of this when I woke up this morning. After more thought I think the reason I liked it so much is because the way it felt, it was soft and smooth. I then realized it you buy quality you get quality!

Owie!

I hurt my darn knee when I was at work today. Ouchie! I just took a wrong step and kapowee!
My first instinct is to blame old age. I head to the doctor's tomorrow to see if I did any real damage. So until I find out anything more it's home for me and no work...............hmmmmm I think I kinda like the no work part. :)

Negativity is Contagious

I haven't written for months, My blog sucks. I thought I would start writing again since my Friend Kathy is now writing her blog, as she just purchased a Travel Trailer and is heading out on the road to start a new chapter in life.

I wanted to speak about watching Dr. Benjamin Carson on Hannity, he is so positive I love it. I've seen him years ago and I remember his story about how his mother made him read and write book reports and how it inspired him in his life. He is such a great man.

He is contagious, just listening to him inspires me to be a better person.

You know what else is contagious? Negative people and attitudes. I work with a real negative Nellie, I'm going to have to counter act his negativity in some way. Prayer, Praising and Purpose will be my approach.

Have a great day!

Just another day

It's just another day but one I'm thankful for. Ari and I cleaned up the house and the guys left this morning to take care of some soccer fundraising business. I work later this afternoon and then early tomorrow we head out to a soccer game. Here's hoping you all are thankful for the day and it's possibilities!

Can't seem to post anything

Life is just to busy or too boring to blog ....which is it? I guess it's busy with the same old boring activities. I go to work, and come home, if I have spare time it's consumed with soccer or resting for work etc. I guess that's why the saying goes if you can make a living at something you love, do it!!! In the meanwhile I continue to work on the ferries which isn't a job I dislike, it's just a job that gets mundane, so until I win the lotto I'll be building a career there. I guess I'll post this until I have something great to blog about.

A sense of Style- Building a wardrobe

A sense of style. I have none. My wardrobe consist of blue jeans and t-shirts, work uniforms and pajamas. How sad :( Let's all shed a tear.  Shoes?  When your six feet tall and have size (never mind) feet, shoe shopping is not fun. I'd like to know why all the shoes that fit me have a 3 inch heel on them? Hello Shoe Makers- yeah you! Tall women need some comfy, cute low heeled shoes too you know?!!! Sheesh.

Well I'm building a ward robe (again), every year or so I start building a wardrobe and then somewhere in the year I forget I was building a wardrobe and stop looking for pieces and stop buying, or slink back into buying my v neck tees from Target or where ever I can find them for $7 a piece in all the colors of the current season.

So far in my wardrobe quest I have a white shirt. It's the white shirt I bought last year when I was building a wardrobe. It's a nice simple button down white shirt with 3/4 sleeves. Next on my list a nice dark jean and a nice track suit that I can wear at home or out to the market.

Wish me luck. How's your ward robe hanging?
